STACKS!

Every second Monday morning, our students get involved in Stacks groups. Smaller groups of about 15 students or so, are paired up with a teacher and enjoy some pastoral time exploring the various College values.

Here's Mrs Huxleys group after their session this morning!

ELECTIVES IN ACTION

So Great to see our Year 11 students continuing an active start to their electives this week!

Our Ancient History students even got to complete their own archaeological dig up in the ag plot (gee, I wonder how those bones go there?).

Heres what Ms Brookes, their teacher has to tell us about it;

"Year 11 Ancient History had a first-hand experience of an archaeological dig on Tuesday of week 4. Down at the College agriculture plot, we surveyed the site, and excavated using grid squares, shovels and trowels. The class unearthed two large cow bones, measuring and recording the data. The dig was a great way to put into practice our current topic 'Investigating the Past: History, Archaeology and Science.' Special thanks to Mrs Caines for preparing the dig site for our team."

Our Legal Studies students can also be seen below, digging into a nice chunky text book. As Im sure they will appreciate, considering the amount of reading involved in the realm of law professionals.

So good to see students enjoying their learning.

EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THE POLICE

Hey Guys

If your interested in joining the police force after school, there is a great opportunity to take on some work experience with the local police in april.

If you are interested, you will need to come see me and sit through an interview, where they ask you these questions;

What do you know about the NSW Police Force?
What do you know about the recruitment process of the NSW Police Force?
What positive things have you done in the community?
Why you want a career in the NSW Police Force?
What interests and hobbies you have?
What would you like to achieve from the work experience program?

If you are interested, please come see me!

WELCOME BACK! (better late then never...)

Hello!

2015 has really started in a great way! Swimming carnival, foundation day and of course all the festivities of the first day back. The first week was such a great chance for me to catch up with students and to even greet some new members of our stage 6 cohort.

I hope that you have had a great start to the year also.

Just a few reminders as we round up week 3 here at the College;

- Year 11 and 12 students should be completing revision and homework each night for a minimum of 2 hours.

- Part times jobs are great! However, each students should seek to find a balance that demonstrates that school work is first priority. I have spent time reminding students, that even thought there is great value to part time work, there is greater value in opening up opportunities after school through successful study.

- Correct uniform is an expectation of all students at MACC and Year 11 and 12 students should rarely need correction in this area. As young men and women, I would expect that they can independently ensure they have and wear the correct uniform at all times.

- Enjoy your studies! You have chosen electives that indicate you have an interest in that area. Make the most of the time you have in those classes and explore your interests with enthusiasm!

I am hoping that this blog will be a great way for us to communicate, if you have any suggestions for things you would like to see on here, just let me know!
