PIPS!

Our talented HSC Society and Culture students have been hard at work on their Personal Interest Projects (PIP). The topics they have chosen are very interesting and come from a wide range of ideas. This year our projects included;

Rebecca Bell : “Out of sight, Out of Mind?” A Study into societal awareness of the issue of sex trafficking. 

Rachael Atkinson : Domestic Violence : The Blemish and Unmentionable of Domestic Violence within Society. 

Lelah Broadstock: Does Maternal Employment Negatively affect the wellbeing of Children? 

Isabella Firtko: When the Music Stops.  Does the lyrical content that is found in contemporary music genres (Rock, Pop and Hip-Hop) have a detrimental impact on the behavior of teenagers living at home with family? 

Sara-Jayne Gray: Sink or Swim? Shall we accept them in…. Does the media play a significant role in influencing the level of empathy towards refugees in our country? 

Jessica Lo Surdo: A Shot in the Dark. – injecting some light into the world of vaccination

Chloe Price: Social Hyper Reality and the Implosion of Mental health: Contemporary Youth and Social Media . The Stigmas, Stereotypes, mixed emotions, alienations and prejudice. 

Connor Sykes-Morrison: iPhoney – How has the iPhone affected relationships?
